Leviticus 23

God’s Holy Days

Chosen Army observes the appointed times of Leviticus 23 with the remnant that still keeps them — dated by the calculated Hebrew calendar also used among Living Church of God, United Church of God, and Church of God, a Worldwide Association. God said, “The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts” (Leviticus 23:2). We keep the seasons He named, in the order He gave them.

  • Biblical days run sunset to sunset.
  • Every holy day begins at sunset the evening before the listed Gregorian date.
  • Passover is observed after sunset on the evening before the listed Nisan 14 civil date (for example, 2026 listed Apr 1 → service after sunset Mar 31). Marked * in the table.
  • Pentecost is always a Sunday, counted fifty days from the Sunday during Unleavened Bread.

How dates are calculated

Molad of Tishri is computed from the mean lunation (29 days, 12 hours, 793 parts) after molad Tohu, then the four postponements (dehiyyot): Molad Zakein (molad at or after noon), Lo ADU Rosh (Tishri 1 not Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday), Gatarad, and Betutkafot. Trumpets is that Tishri 1.

Nisan 14 is 164 days before the following Tishri 1 — Nisan through Elul never change length. Unleavened Bread is Nisan 15–21. Atonement is Tishri 10; Tabernacles Tishri 15–21; the Last Great Day Tishri 22.

Find the Sunday that falls during Unleavened Bread (the wave sheaf). That Sunday is day 1. Count fifty days inclusive; day 50 is always a Sunday.

1 Nisan (for 2026: Mar 19) is the first day of the sacred year — a reference date only, not a holy day.
