Privacy Policy — Chosen Army

Effective date: September 10, 2026
Operator: Chosen Army / Rift Software (“we,” “us,” “our”)
Service: the Chosen Army website, apps, and related services at chosen.army and api.chosen.army (the “Service”)

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.

This document is an operational draft for product launch. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.

1. Who we are

Chosen Army is an invite-only social network for people seeking fellowship aligned with biblical Christianity. Contact for privacy questions: privacy@chosen.army (or the contact method listed on the site).

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account and profile

  • Identity and auth data from our authentication provider (e.g., name, email, auth identifiers, sign-in method)
  • Profile data you provide (display name, handle, bio, avatar, and similar)
  • Invite / referral codes used to join

2.2 Content you create

  • Posts, likes, comments (if offered), chat messages, and media you upload
  • Settings and preferences you configure

2.3 Usage and technical logs

We collect and log information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service, including:

  • IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, and request metadata
  • Timestamps, pages/API routes accessed, error logs, and diagnostic events
  • Rate-limit and abuse-prevention signals
  • Cookies or similar technologies where used for session, security, or essential preferences

2.4 Communications

  • Messages you send us (support, reports, feedback)
  • Transactional notices we send you about the Service

We do not require you to provide sensitive categories of data beyond what you choose to post. Please do not upload other people’s private information without permission.

3. How we use information

We use collected information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including to:

  • Create and manage accounts; authenticate you; enforce invite-only access
  • Display your profile and content to other members as designed by the product
  • Deliver feed, chat, notifications, and media
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate spam, abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Understand aggregate usage (e.g., reliability, performance) so we can keep the Service running

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent member lists to marketers. We do not use your private chat content to train public AI models for third parties.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

  • Service providers / processors (hosting, database, storage, authentication, email, analytics that are strictly operational) under contracts that limit use to providing services to us
  • Other members, when you post publicly or message them (content you share is visible per product rules)
  • Legal / safety, if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or integrity of users and the Service
  • Business transfer, if we merge, sell, or reorganize, subject to continued protection consistent with this Policy

We do not sell your data.

5. Retention

We retain account, content, and logs for as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described below; some residual logs may remain for security and compliance for a limited period.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact privacy@chosen.army. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

You can:

  • Edit profile information in settings
  • Delete content you control (subject to product features)
  • Request account deletion
  • Control marketing email preferences if we ever send optional mail (transactional mail about the Service may still be sent)

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (access controls, encryption in transit via HTTPS, least-privilege practices). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. International users

We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.

10. Faith context (not a data sale)

Chosen Army is a faith-oriented community. Public Beliefs pages and community standards describe our doctrinal framing. That context does not change our rule: we do not sell your data, and we collect/log primarily to operate the Service safely.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy. We will post the revised version with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy where permitted by law.
